Terms and Conditions
The terms that apply when you use our services and client portal.
These terms apply to services provided by Nelson Digital Tax Prep LLC ("we," "us," or "our") and to your use of nelsondigitaltaxprep.com and our client portal. By requesting a service or creating a portal account, you agree to these terms.
Who we are and what we do
We are a document and filing services firm in Nederland, Texas. We prepare tax returns, help form LLCs, build websites, support family-based immigration paperwork, provide notary services, prepare ITIN applications, assist with unemployment claims, handle Indian document services such as OCI and PAN, and assist with tourist visa applications.
We are not a law firm and we do not provide legal advice. We prepare and organize documents based on the information you give us. For immigration matters we provide document preparation support only; we do not represent you before immigration authorities. If your matter needs legal advice, please consult a licensed attorney.
Your responsibilities
- Give us complete and accurate information. We prepare filings from what you provide, and we cannot verify the accuracy of your documents or figures independently.
- Review anything we prepare before it is filed or submitted. You are responsible for the contents of your own return or application.
- Keep your portal login credentials private, and tell us promptly if you believe someone else has access to your account.
- Provide documents in time for us to meet any deadline that applies to your matter.
Fees
Fees depend on the service and are quoted before we begin work. Government filing fees, agency fees, and third-party costs such as domain registration or hosting are separate from our fees and are your responsibility. Fees for work already performed are not refundable once a filing has been submitted.
Text message (SMS) program terms
Our client portal requires multi-factor authentication. By default we email your one-time login code. You may instead choose to receive that code by text message.
- Program name: Nelson Digital Tax Prep LLC account login verification.
- What we send: one-time verification codes when you sign in, and codes for password resets. These are account-security messages only. We do not send marketing, promotional, or bulk text messages.
- How to opt in: check the optional consent box when creating your account, or choose text delivery under Settings in your client portal. Consent is not a condition of receiving any of our services.
- Message frequency: varies, and depends entirely on how often you sign in to your own account. Most clients receive one message per sign-in.
- Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier may charge you for messages you receive, according to your own plan.
- Availability: text delivery is available for United States mobile numbers. If your number is outside the United States we will continue to email your codes.
- How to opt out: reply STOP to any message, or switch your account back to email verification under Settings at any time. Opting out does not close your account or affect any other service. Reply HELP for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not share phone numbers collected for verification with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
Your documents and your account
Documents you upload are stored in private, access-restricted storage and encrypted at rest. You may delete your account and its associated documents at any time under Settings in your client portal, though we may need to retain certain records where tax, immigration, notary, or professional recordkeeping rules require it.
Please do not email sensitive documents or identification numbers to us. Upload them through your client portal or bring them to your appointment instead.
Appointments
You may reschedule or cancel an appointment from your client portal. Please give us as much notice as you can so we can offer the time to someone else.
Website and hosting services
Where we build or host a website for you, you own your content and branding. Domain registration and hosting are provided by third parties under their own terms, and ongoing monitoring or maintenance is available separately.
Limits on our responsibility
We take care in our work, but we cannot guarantee the outcome of any filing or application, because those decisions are made by government agencies and not by us. We are not responsible for penalties, interest, delays, or denials that result from inaccurate or incomplete information provided to us, or from documents provided too late to meet a deadline. Nothing in these terms limits any responsibility that cannot be limited under applicable law.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "last updated" date above.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas.
